The Targeted Export Support Scheme (TESS) is designed to help some companies in Yorkshire and Humber access funding to support the development of their export strategy, usually over a 6-12 month period. Companies using the scheme must work with a UK Trade & Investment International Trade Adviser, who will help them to create or review their export strategy.
Funding for the scheme is provided by Yorkshire Forward, but applications are submitted to the Company's International Trade Adviser and reviewed sub-regionally at monthly panel meetings.
Any size company in Yorkshire and the Humber can apply, but they must be working with a UK Trade & Investment International Trade Adviser to develop their export strategy. The main idea is to help promote a new product/service into an existing export market or to take an existing product/service to a new market. Companies without any experience in exporting would be more suited to the Passport to Export programme.
Companies may find it beneficial to be able to talk through the planning process with their International Trade Adviser. They will also be given advice on other services and sources of information to help them succeed. The funding attached to the programme is fairly flexible and can contribute towards costs including – but not limited to – market research visits, overseas travel, exhibition costs, translation and interpretation costs and cultural training.
