What is an IBN?

An IBN is a networking event with the aim of creating opportunities for businesses to mix with each other and share information, ideas and experience that will increase their international business potential.

IBN events are aimed at businesses from all industries and sectors in Yorkshire and the Humber.

What are the benefits?

Networking is a vital tool for businesses but it’s not always easy to find the right opportunities. The idea behind the IBN is to create a vibrant environment in which the region’s businesses can motivate each other to greater success by sparking off ideas and sharing expertise. Businesses attending an IBN will be able to gather new contacts and ideas that could significantly boost their potential for trading overseas.

Who are the speakers?

Previous speakers at IBN events include former Olympic sprinter Roger Black, Jude Kelly, who is former artistic director at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, Ajaz Ahmed, founder of Freeserve and Dennis Turner, chief economist at HSBC. Sir Digby Jones, former director general of the CBI is also patron of the IBN.

A regular face at the IBN is Barnsley born resident poet Ian MacMillan who joins the speakers to provide poetic humour to the event.
