Newsletter launched for Indian construction sector

TradeYorkshire is pleased to offer UK construction companies the chance to download and read the first edition of ‘Construction Newsletter’ produced by the UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) India Construction Team.

The first edition focuses on some of the opportunities for UK companies in the Indian construction sector. These include:

• Regeneration
• Housing
• Green and intelligent buildings
• High end construction products, especially for residential and hotel developments
• Standards
• Large transport infrastructure projects
• Large road, bridge and tunnel projects

It also gives an overview of the Indian construction industry, which is worth around £15 billion annually. The sector is the second largest employer in the country after agriculture and employs around 18 million people.

The newsletter explains that the industry looks set to grow significantly in the short, medium and long term as the Indian Government and private sector seek to develop and upgrade a wide range of the country’s transport, power, urban and housing infrastructure.

The newsletter also provides details of upcoming major projects, including construction projects and residential & commercial infrastructure projects.

Success stories of UK businesses in India are also included as are details of upcoming events and useful websites.
