Meet the Hull & Humber Clipper on a trade mission

A mission to Singapore is taking place in January to coincide with the arrival of the Hull & Humber Clipper, the Yorkshire Forward sponsored yacht which is taking part in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race 2007-08.

The mission will be led by the Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce and will provide an insight into the vast opportunities available in Singapore, which has been designated by UK Trade & Investment as a High Growth Market.

A package of networking events is being co-ordinated by the Chamber and a programme of events entitled ‘Global Gateways to International Business’ focusing on logistics is being planned by the University of Hull. The aim is to provide a forum for networking to promote the Yorkshire & Humber region and regional businesses to Singaporeans in positions of influence.

Singapore is one of the UK’s key markets in the Asia-Pacific region and one of its largest export markets outside Europe. The UK is also the third largest investor in Singapore and there are well over 700 British companies based there. Opportunities exist in almost all commercial sectors, in particular:

The mission will take place between 21-25 January 2008. The approximate cost per company will be £1,400. A travel grant of £800 will be available for eligible firms.

Further details will be published shortly. To register your interest, please email Lorraine Cattle at l.cattle@hull-humber-chamber.co.uk or telephone 01482 324976.
