The region’s universities – how businesses can benefit

The universities in Yorkshire and the Humber are home to a vast range of world-class expertise and state of the art facilities.

But huge numbers of companies are unaware that they can tap into this expertise and make use of these facilities for the benefit of their business.

This is where KnowledgeRICH can help – a free service which connects the technological needs of industry to a network of over 1,000 commercially experienced technical experts within the region’s ten universities.

KnowledgeRICH provides links to resources, facilities, R&D and specialist knowledge to help businesses overcome a particular technology hurdle. The service can also signpost companies towards international trade markets and funding opportunities.

KnowledgeRICH is part of a portfolio of business support programmes for innovation that have been established by Yorkshire Forward. The service is delivered in partnership with Yorkshire Universities, the regional higher education association. The ten universities across the region are all partners in the service and each has a liaison officer working as part of the KnowledgeRICH team.

The service is confidential, objective and impartial.  One free telephone call will begin the process. 

Upon making a call, KnowledgeRICH will:

• Discuss and analyse your needs
• Identify and contact relevant experts at the universities
• Co-ordinate proposals from which you can select your preferred expert(s)
• Arrange and facilitate meetings between you and your selected expert(s)
• Guarantee a detailed response in seven working days
