After succeeding in establishing a special needs/ rehabilitation care division, Saudi Arabian company Al Ewan Medical Company is looking to identify potential UK partners in the continence management and pharmaceuticals & biopharma business.
UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) has already had significant success with Al Ewan and believes that this is a serious business opportunity for UK companies to be professionally represented by Al Ewan.
Below Al Ewan outlines the background to its relationship with UKTI so far:
“Three years ago, we did not have any interaction with UK companies. Thanks to your strong follow up and UKTI support in involving us in different trade delegates, we now represent a number of UK companies in rehabilitation sector, whose business is growing regularly.
“When we started our interaction with UKTI, our focus was on development of rehabilitation care division, specially the seating and positioning, as there were important opportunities in this sector. I'm pleased to confirm that we managed to create a positive impact with Tendercare Ltd, PHP, Quest 88. Now we are introducing Smirthwaite Ltd. These companies have passed through the introduction stage and have come into streamline. This allowed us to create a leadership position for UK companies in seating & positioning segment. Now the introduction of other UK companies in this segment is easier.
“Following seating & positioning segment, our focus has been to develop business for UK companies in continence management and pharmaceuticals /biopharma. In continence management we completed the initial phase of company and product introduction and have entered into phase of business generation for Manfred Sauer UK Ltd. Now we have completed the process to include another UK company Hunter Urology in our portfolio.
“Pharmaceuticals is the business segment that we are ready to develop now. We are representing some non-UK pharma companies and we wish to look to the UK for new products.
“Our company ownership consists of healthcare professionals who are from the pharmaceutical segment. We enjoy the professional expertise in regulatory and commercial issues. We believe that we significantly contributed in the development of UK companies’ business opportunities in The Kingdom in the seating & positioning area and continence management segment and that we can achieve the same in the pharmaceuticals sector.”
